Our primary season is as part of a 8 club, 110 team competition which consists the Essendon District Netball Association (EDNA). All our games are played on a Saturday afternoon from March through September at the Aberfeldie primary school netball courts off Ramsay street, Aberfeldie.

During spring we play at the local Riverside competition which plays on Saturday afternoon from October through to December. This allows our younger teams (U9, U11 and U13) to continue developing their netball skills in the "off season". It also serves as a great opportunity for introducing new coaches and players to netball.

St Johns Netball club also participates in the Essendon Thunder representative teams (13U, 15U, 17U and Open). This is a pathway development netball program that provides a great opportunity for players to develop their netball ability by playing against high grade netball teams from across Melbourne. St Johns Netball was proudly represented by 21 of our players in 2016.

Our club welcomes everyone, drawing children from the north west suburbs of Melbourne including Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Ascot Vale, Travancore, Brunswick, Coburg, Royal Park, Pascoe Vale, Strathmore, Glenroy, Oak Park, Aberfeldie and Maribyrnong.

Our training venues include:
  • Moonee Ponds West Primary School, Athol St, Moonee Ponds 3039;
  • St Johns Uniting Church Hall, corner Mt Alexander Road and Buckley Street, Essendon, 3040; or
  • Riverside Golf & Tennis Centre, Newsome Street, Ascot Vale 3032
